1 / 3Altona Miniature Railway
π Altona North, VIC
Volunteer-operated miniature railway in Altona North running 5 and 7.25 gauge steam and diesel engines over 1.5km of track. Opens the third Sunday of each month with free BBQs, covered picnic areas, and food vans on-site.
What a joy to visit. Went with 4 kids, 13, 10, 7 and 6. We all went on the rides amd were amazed at the length of the tracks and how much fun it is. Definitely need to buy the multi ticket or all day pass. Two food vans and a gelati van. Only down side only hot food available was the potato twisty thing. Would have been nice to have other choices.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for children aged 2-10 and train-enthusiast adults. The 12-minute ride length is substantial enough for genuine excitement, and most children want to go again immediately β buy the day pass upfront if visiting with under-10s.
