1 / 2Australian Reptile Park
π Somersby, NSW
Gold medal wildlife park on the Central Coast featuring live venom milking demonstrations, komodo dragon encounters, python and baby alligator photo experiences, kangaroo feeding, and daily keeper shows across indoor and outdoor exhibits.
It was a fantastic day out at the Reptile zoo. Parking was easy and the facilities were good. The shows were top notch and we really enjoyed the alligator feeding and the alligator show. There is a great playground for the kids to get some energy out. The pic Nic tables were clean and it was great to have kangaroos roaming around to pat. The zoo keepers were going around with some small animals to pet and it was not over crowded. My tip is to be there before 10.00am and leave by 1.30-2.00pm so your avoid bug crowds and traffic. 5 stars family experience for our family.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for multi-generational groups β the live venom milking and alligator shows engage adults as much as kids, and staff enthusiasm is consistently praised across hundreds of reviews. Allow a full morning for shows and animal interactions.

βArrived when it opened. Parking was great. So much to see and do. We had 3 generations and each age enjoyed something. Absolutely loved the day especially the dinosaurs which was an added bonus. We have been numerous times and love it. Mick has been there for every visit over the past 30 years we've been coming and adds lots of knowledge and humour to the talks. Highly recommend for a day of fun sms adventure.β

βAbsolutely fantastic park. It wasnβt too crowded so you have plenty of time to view the animals. We did a behind the scenes tour and our guide Millie was superb. At 16 her knowledge is outstanding and her enthusiasm was infectious. The park really have a brilliant staff member.β

βExceptional customer service from all staff members. The activities were exciting, especially for our kids, and the animal interactions were truly memorable and something weβll always remember. The only downside was the pricing of food and drinks. With no other options available and only one kiosk open, the prices felt excessiveβ$8 for a single bottle of water is extremely steep. For that price, I could have bought a full carton from the supermarket. Had I known, or been able to leave the venue to purchase supplies, I definitely would haveβespecially considering we needed to buy five bottles of water. I understand prices can be higher at venues like this, but this felt unreasonable. Lesson learned for next time: weβll be fully stocked with snacks and drinks beforehand to avoid feeling ripped off. Another issue was the photo collection process. We waited a long time for our final two photos. Every time we returned (around every 30 minutes), we were told it would be another 15β30 minutes. We came back three times, yet families who were behind us in line had already received their photos while we were still waiting. We were offered free postage, but our kids were so excited and wanted to take the photos home that day. After a long, hot day, being tired and hungry, we still waited over an hour just to receive them. To add to this, when I later tried to scan the code for our python photos, I received an error message saying the code was invalid. If the food and drink pricing had been more family-friendly and the photo service quicker and more organised, this would have easily been a perfect rating.β

Overview
Australian Reptile Park at Somersby holds gold medal recognition and operates the Weigel Venom Centre producing antivenom from on-site snake milking β a genuine working facility, not a display. Alligator and crocodile feeding shows run daily. Families can hold pythons, get photos with baby alligators, feed kangaroos, and book behind-the-scenes tours. A dedicated playground allows kids to burn energy between shows.
