We enjoyed Billabong Zoo very much. Its not too big or over-commercial, having a good selection of animals to see and learn about (including roos and wallabies to feed/pet). Good informative feeding shows/talks. We watched the crocodile, snow leopard and cheetah feeding/talks. Loved the fact that all the animals were easy to see and seemed happy to be seen up close. Very engaging! The koalas for us were the star of the show, they have a very nice covered space where they can be seen very close up without fences or bars. We did the Koala encounter. It was super special, and we got to get in and up close to stroke and feed some of the koalas, including adorable little "Digger" the youngster! Great little cafe too. Definitely a 5 star outing for all.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families wanting a manageable zoo experience where kids get close to animals across a wide species range without the fatigue of larger parks. The keeper talks for crocodiles, snow leopards, and cheetahs are genuinely educational and run daily. Families with toddlers benefit from the compact layout and short distances between enclosures.

We had a great day. Zoo Keeper Kristie was especially helpful in coaxing the Snow Leopard out after seeing us waiting patiently for him to come out. We did the Cheetah Feeding experience which was awesome. All of the animal info sessions were well run and informative. There were not a lot of people on our visit, so we didn’t have to jostle for a look or good position to take photos. All staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to the whole Billabong team for making our day memorable.

Small zoo, but laid out well. Most of the enclosures were nice. Just wish the snow leopards had a more vertical space. The welcome center was nice. And the woman at the café was great. I can't remember her name but she had dark hair and was more middle aged. She had just gotten back from vacation. The girl at the ticket desk was also really nice and helpful, explaining what keeper talks were coming up and where to find them.

What a great zoo. Super fun for kids, especially the feeding times. A great selection of animals on display. Feeding the wallabies and the crocodile show was a highlight. You can see the whole circuit in a couple of hours. Gift store and cafe were pretty good too. If you have kids, definitely check this place out.
