1 / 3Birrarung Marr Playground
π Melbourne, VIC
Free outdoor playground near Flinders Street Station with large climbing boulders, grassy rolling hills, flying fox, hammock swing, and Yarra River views. Pram-accessible with public toilets on site.
Wonderful expansive and open play spaces in a natural setting, and yet only a couple of hundred meters from Flinders St Station. The kids love it - especially rolling down the big grassy hill bordering the playground, and climbing on and among the huge boulders. The hammock swing and slides are some other highlights.
π Family Action Verdict
Strongest for families already in the CBD who want unstructured outdoor play without driving. Toddlers through primary-age kids all find something β rolling down the grassy hill and scrambling on boulders works for a wide age span. The free-entry and pram-friendly layout make spontaneous visits easy.

βWith the rush of the city itβs nice to be able to find something child friendly, and relaxing. Where the kids can get some air and run around. Iβve been visiting here for years for just a bit of a break. It also pairs well with a visit to ACMI!β
