We had a great cherry picking experience at CherryHill Orchards, even though it rained and we got absolutely drenched ☔️😅 The orchard itself is beautiful and well organised. The cherries were fresh, sweet, and plentiful, and picking straight from the trees was really fun. The process was smooth — ticketed entry, easy check-in, and pay per kilo for what you pick. Despite the rain, it was still enjoyable (just make sure to wear wellies and bring a poncho). The staff were helpful, signage was clear, and the café was a nice stop for cherry treats and drinks after picking. Overall, it’s a fantastic day trip from Melbourne and perfect for friends or families. Rain or shine, we still had a lot of fun and would definitely visit again 🍒✨
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 4 and up who enjoy outdoor seasonal experiences. The orchard is expansive enough to explore at a leisurely pace, and the food trucks and live music make it a full half-day outing. Combine with other Yarra Valley stops to stretch the day.

“We have the best time of our life over there. Cherries are all big, round, juicy, and sweet! Can't fault it at all. It's was such good weather, around 18degree with sun and wind. Friendly staff explaining on how to choose and pick the right cherries. After picking cherries, we are back to the entry side. There are live music, great singer, great view, good coffee, food/ice cream trucks. My kids are having lots of fun running around the farm. It's a nice area to picnic there too. They even have free tasting to all their products. Love their pure cherries juice! Kids love their cherry fizzy drinks. Will definitely go back there.”

“The experience was really nice. The best part was we had a person who spoke Farsi which was fantastic. Squid and Eli were fantastic. Pure joy yo hang out with the staff. Adib was very knowledgable and gave us a semi lecture about cherries snd convinced us to get cherry juice from the cafe which we look forward to try. will definitely come back again.”

“Our Saturday was sorted with our visit to cherry hill orchards at Wandin East. Right before entering the venue, there is a serene beauty of mountains to view giving you goosebumps. Parking - There is plenty of parking space available at the venue too. Customer service - Friendly and professional. they were also helpful in terms of assistance when we lost our glasses Venue - as mentioned, this place is a gem for a view with the toilet facilities and a picnic spot to spend time with family Food - The venue serves italian food incl Pizza and they serve icecream and soft serve too. Cherry picking - This is the highlight of the trip where we get to pluck the cherries from the cherry tree. There are dedicated lanes to pluck them. My little one enjoyed it thoroughly. You can eat as many cherries you like when you are plucking and they give you a bucket to put the cherries you pluck to take home. For cherries in the bucket, they charge roughly $14 a kg. The only issue we faced was the lane opened for us to pluck had limted cherries on the tree to enjoy. Overall, it was a good well spent afternoon at this place. Highly recommend for families.”
