The chevron Parkland is such an incredible spot. It's a beautiful place for a BBQ with the family or just picnicking on the banks of the river bank. It has plenty of barbecues spread across the Parkland and also seating with shelter underneath. It also has several playground areas for the kids and pathways where you can walk around the whole park land including Optus Stadium. Its a beautiful spot in a credit to the designers and the people who look after it and keep it so beautifully nice tidy and clean by maintaining it all.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families combining playground time with a riverside walk and BBQ lunch, particularly in winter and spring when the lack of shade over equipment is not a factor. School-age kids get the most from the bike track and the range of playground zones.

“A lovely place to visit... in winter! There's very limited shade - none over the play equipment, but the benches and tables are shaded - so hats, sunscreen and water bottles are a must. It has a great mix of playgrounds separated by walkways (only the first playground, next to The Camfield carpark, is enclosed). Plenty of on-site parking, great food at The Camfield and the Matagarup Bridge connects with the East Perth side, and is another peaceful walk.”

“This playground is a bit hidden compared to Optus Playground, but it is equally interesting and enjoyable. It's a great place to bring your kids for some fun and to enjoy a new experience. Plus, it has an awesome bike track that's perfect for cycling enthusiasts!”
