1 / 3Event Cinemas - North Lakes
π North Lakes, QLD
Event Cinemas North Lakes features V-Max, Gold Class, and standard screenings with excellent sound and image quality. Staff are consistently helpful. Gold Class auditoria are dated with worn seating and a mildew smell reported by multiple patrons.
Sound and Audio are amazing, lighting and screening is equally amazing! Watched two movies here. Demon slayer and The smashing machine - only started coming here as the movie times are a lot better compared to chermside. Staff are always friendly and positive, always helpful. Only complaint is seating, out of all the seats to choose they used stadium standard seating but comfier. Unfortunate, but can imagine that Vmax here is the way to go.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families booking standard or V-Max sessions β the sound quality and scheduling make it a strong day-to-day choice. Gold Class seats are torn and the auditorium smells of mildew; at current ticket pricing that represents poor value. Stick to regular formats for a reliable experience.

βWent to Northlakes Gold Class for the first time as we generally go to Chermside. It was disappointing, very dated and smelt like mildew. It felt like you didnβt want to sit in the chairs. Staff were great though.β

β$90 for Gold Class to see Wicked: For Good, and this is what we were given? The condition of the cinema was honestly shocking. The seats were torn, peeling, and visibly worn down to the point they looked like theyβd been neglected for years. The tables were sticky, stained, and clearly not cleaned between sessions. For a supposed premium experience, it felt anything but premium. To make the experience even more disappointing, there were three team members standing at the bar chatting, and not one of them acknowledged us when we entered no hello, no welcome, nothing. When youβre paying $90 for two tickets, the bare minimum should be a clean seat and basic customer service. I donβt expect a red carpet, but I do expect a Gold Class cinema to meet the standard they advertise and this was nowhere near it. The photos speak for themselves. For the price point, this was extremely underwhelming and honestly quite disappointing.β

βThe seat was broken, like the leg rest was fully dislodged from the seat. They moved us to some edge seats. It only got more uncomfortable as I was ordering some food on my phone I didnt even notice the movie had started. Besides the screen saying to make sure ur phones quiet there was none of the usual signs the movie was starting. The lights didnt dim the volume didnt increase and the screen didnt widen. I only realised it had started when my partner had told me it had started. I put my phone down and tried to watch the movie. But remember how I said the lights didnt dim... my eyes couldn't handle the dark screen of the movie while being blinded by the bright "row" lights down the length of the seating. Dead set hoyts has reclining chairs for their basic cinema experince so I wont be giving points for these ones recliningβ

Overview
Standard and V-Max sessions deliver strong audio and visual quality, with reviewers switching from Chermside specifically for better session scheduling. Staff across all formats are cited as friendly and proactive with seating issues. The Gold Class auditorium contradicts the premium price: torn and peeling seats, sticky tables, and a mildew odour have been documented across multiple independent reviews. Chicks at the Flicks and promotional half-price Tuesday sessions are available.
