Had a fantastic day out at the Galston Valley Railway with the Hornsby Model Engineers. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, and it was great to share the experience with good company. The model engines were an absolute highlight – beautifully maintained, full of character, and a real testament to the passion and skill of the people who run them. Watching them in action (and hearing those little engines chuff along the track) brought a smile to everyone’s face. A perfect mix of great people, impressive miniature engineering, and a relaxed, enjoyable setting. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates trains or just wants a wholesome day out.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with train-loving children of any age, and adults who appreciate precision engineering. The volunteer-run atmosphere creates a genuine community feel β€” guides explain the engines with real enthusiasm. Toddlers through to grandparents all find something to engage with.
