1 / 2Macquarie Ice Rink
📍 North Ryde, NSW
Recently renovated ice rink offering public sessions, learn-to-skate classes, stick and puck sessions, and birthday parties with mini lessons. Located inside Macquarie Shopping Centre near Macquarie Uni Metro station.
So glad the rink is open again after the renovations. The ice quality was pretty good considering the Sydney weather, and the refurbishments also look good. Took my daughter for the tots group classes which didn’t work out, however we swapped over to private lessons instead. Coach William was good and very patient with a young child who is looking forward to her next lesson.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families introducing young children to ice skating — instructors are patient with first-timers and the recently renovated surface is in good condition. Weekday sessions are significantly quieter than weekends. Check smallest rental skate sizes before arrival if visiting with very young children, as size availability can be sparse.

“Workers were really friendly and really helpful. Haven't been here for over twenty five years and it sure has improved. My kid had a wonderful time. My only complaint was the kids skates were pretty battered. Probably need 1-2 small small sizes (8 or 7) but other than that great work!”

“Finally this newly refurbished renovated and repaired ice rink within Macquarie Shopping Centre has reopened after months of closure. Conveniently located near Macquarie Uni Metro Station, you can get your steps in for the day and shop before or afterwards. Ice is very new and a little fragile over opening weekend but a lot better then previous. Hope it holds up to the Stinky hot Aussie temperatures. Very crowded on weekends , if you can I recommend earlier or lunch time sessions during the weekdays. Limbo game is back on the ice during selected sessions, Late night disco sessions are back. A bit of fun for everyone but skate at your own risk. Helmets, gloves, knee pads/elbow pads recommended recommended for first timers Skate hire and penguins/kangaroos also for hire at additional cost for first timers.Be prepared for any bag checks by security and line ups to get in. Whatever your skate style hockey, figure, recreational or speed it's back!”
