π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 2β12 who want a full half-day outdoors without spending anything. The bike track with traffic lights is genuinely unique and keeps older kids engaged beyond the playground. Busy on weekends β bring your own camping chairs if you want guaranteed seating.

βBest park in the area and probably one of the better ones in Melbourne! Aside from having a decommissioned train that kids can play on, it also has multiple playgrounds for kids of all ages, basketball, a little area for bikes and scooters with working traffic lights and a few BBQ/picnic areas. Highly recommended for a day out with the family and little ones.β

βA great place for families. Young and old. Lots of open space and a great place thatβs safe for kids to ride their bikes and experience the outdoors. On busy days byo camping chairs are advisable. But lots of open space and shade to spread yourselves out. Well thought out park design with lots of touch, feel and life experiences to offer. BYO snacks too.β

βThis is a terrific park for the kids. The playground is well spaced out with lots of different equipment for kids to explore. My son loved the train and running around the traffic school. There's also a large raised section with lots of things to climb. Parking was pretty good, although on very busy days might be hard to get a spot.β

Marie Wallace Bayswater Park stands out as one of Melbourne east most free parks. The centrepiece decommissioned train draws children immediately, and the bike track with working traffic lights lets kids practice road rules in a safe environment. Multiple playground zones cater to different ages, with a large raised climbing section alongside standard equipment. BBQ and shaded picnic areas make extended family visits easy.
