MoPA: Museum of Play and Art
π Thomastown, VIC
Play-based learning space for ages 1-7 with educator-designed exhibits, arts and crafts, sensory zones, ball play, and structured activities running every 30 minutes each session.
Great space for smaller kids, probably under 7yo? Been to the Thomastown location twice and both times my boys had a great time. My second was able to enjoy it more now that heβs walking. Wonderful space for a play date as kids canβt go far.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children under 7 β the contained layout means kids can't wander far, making it low-stress for parents. Toddlers who are walking get the most from it. Book the session on school-holiday weekdays for noticeably smaller crowds than the slot. Birthday parties are well-run with attentive hosts.

βMy granddaughter enjoyed it very much and even made some friends. The play equipments are safe and easy to use. The ball blowing was great , the house/castle was enjoyable and pretty much everything are child friendly. The cafe is great too having it inside the venue and almost part of the play area. Thd staff are quick to serve and food is great and reasonably priced. Will certainly recommend MOPA.β

βWow, this place is perfect for younger kids. We visited here on holiday and our 1 year old and 5 year old loved it. It's best to pre-book your tickets, which are in 2 hour slots. We went at the 1pm slot which was much quieter compared to the 11am slot on a weekday during school holidays. There are specialised activities every half an hour which includes painting a real car, doing craft, storytime and a dance party. They also have many different areas of play to suit all ages that incorporate science and creative arts. The staff were very friendly, toilets and changing facilities were clean and there is a cafe which sells food, drinks and even baby food.β

βWe had our daughter's birthday party here and we were so impressed with the service that we received. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Our host Jen was engaging and patient and the kids had a blast! The place was clean and the food was fantastic! Even the coffee was splendid! We've been to many play centres and birthday party venues and this has to by far the best experience we've had so far. Highly recommend!!β
