This is a fantastic place, full of friendly volunteers and staff. A hidden gem that I only discovered recently, you can easily spend the whole day here if you take the time to go through everything. They have a self guided tour using your phone (free wifi) as well which enriches the experience. Perfect for families or even just people like myself with an interest in 19th-early 20th century life. Most importantly, the park preserves Australia's European settlement history which every true blue Australian should learn about and endeavour to keep alive.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with school-age children who engage with hands-on historical exploration rather than passive exhibits. The self-guided phone tour structures the visit without requiring a guide. Volunteers are knowledgeable and approachable — children who ask questions get genuine answers.

“Plenty of history here. You really get a sense of what it was like for the early settlers. A great variety of buildings including a classroom, church, workshops and living quarters. Well worth a visit. And while you're there, the cafe has some very tasty, home made cakes to have with your coffee.”
