1 / 3Orange Regional Museum
đ Orange, NSW
Small regional museum in central Orange with rotating exhibitions, interactive displays calibrated for families, free entry, pram access, and street parking directly outside.
When we visited in June 2022, there was a lovely interactive exhibit by James Gulliver Hancock and it was whimsical, interesting and we'll thought out. I think both adults and children can enjoy the exhibit. The exhibits change regularly, so make sure to visit often. Also don't miss out on the very nice orange regional gallery next door
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 3-10 who enjoy a short, focused museum visit without the pressure of a large institution. Free entry and central location make it an easy addition to an Orange day trip. The rotating exhibitions reward repeat visitors.

âGreat place to view the Wynne winner in the Achies series. Not crowded, free entry. Excellent venue. Coffee shop nearby. The descriptions of the local paintings were at the right height and right size of font.â

âAs soon as you step into the Orange Museum, you're welcomed by a team of incredibly friendly staff who are more than happy to provide detailed information about the museum itself and recommend other attractions in Orange. It's a well-maintained space, ideal for families, especially if with its kid-friendly exhibits. They even have activities planned specifically for children, making it both informative and engaging for younger visitors. However, the museum is quite small compared to other museums you may have visited. While it offers a concise and interesting insight into the local history, there isn't an extensive range of exhibits to explore. That said, it's still a lovely stop if you're in the area, especially for a quick, educational visit with kids.â

âOrange Regional Museum located at the heart of Orange City and free to enter. 1P street parking is available just outside the museum. Portion of the museum is closed to renovate during our visit. Anyway, the overall experience is great especially appreciate the attitude of the staff.â
