The Early Morning Savannah Tour was incredible! The tour guide was so passionate and informative about what goes on in the zoo, what's new since last time you might have visited and everything you could ask about the animals themselves. It was wonderful to hear about what goes on with looking after them, how tricky it is to coordinate their transfers and introducing new animals to the enclosure. So many intricate details that you wouldn't think to ask, we found out on this tour. It was such a beautiful day and so quiet, which made it much more enticing for the animals to come out and say hello without screaming kids scaring them away. After this sensational experience, I can't wait to do another just like it! Perth Zoo is awesome and I'll be raving about it to everyone!

Best for families with children of any age who want a relaxed, walkable zoo day without the scale of a major metropolitan park. The smaller footprint means even toddlers in prams cover the full zoo comfortably. Weekdays are noticeably quieter with animals more active.

“Such a wonderful place to visit! The zoo is clean, well maintained, and beautifully designed with lots of greenery. The animals look well cared for, and the enclosures feel natural and spacious. “Perth zoo was amazing! The animals were mostly awake or feeding , rhino was having a mud bath around a metre infront of us and the koala bear was active and moving at a close distance. Great for our 9yr old to see these animals up close and personal. What a great experience on holiday from NZ. But sad to see the red panda was not there 🫠”
