A Refreshing Coastal Escape Near Melbourne After a busy week, I decided to take a short trip to the coast near Melbourne, and it was an excellent choice. The day was filled with a coastal walk along breathtaking shorelines, a peaceful picnic surrounded by nature, and visits to beautifully maintained gardens that offered both tranquility and inspiration. The scenic views throughout the day were truly rejuvenating, providing a sense of calm and perspective that only a close encounter with nature can deliver. This visit reminded me of the importance of taking time to pause, recharge, and appreciate the simple yet profound beauty around us. Even a short getaway can offer clarity, balance, and renewed energy to approach the week ahead.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 3â10 who are enthusiastic about trains. The 10-minute bush ride is simple â no elaborate scenery or theming along the track. Works especially well as part of a broader outing combining the beach and parklands nearby. Party packages are well-organised and straightforward to book.

âWe held a 4th birthday party at the Miniature Railway on one of their non-running days. It was super simple to organise and at very reasonable price. The party was fantastic, the team had set up tables and chairs for our guests under the shelter and the BBQ was out and ready to use. We had 2 hours of unlimited train rides and the kids absolutely loved it. All volunteers are wonderful.. thank you for a very fun and successful party!â

âCute little railway for kids. Adults can ride too. We visited on Easter weekend. Was very busy, long queues. Lots of nearby parking. Can take a nice walk along the beach after.â
