Rollerway Skate Centre in Newtown, Geelong, has operated for over 30 years. A separate beginners room at the back of the venue is designed for first-timers, with stability frames available for young skaters. Skate and blade hire on site.
Really lovely place to rollerskake, people there are super friendly and the staff are really kind! I've been here a couple of times and always feel excited to come back again, whether on my own or with friends! The only 'downsides', even then that might be too harsh is that the music and lights can be a little excessive, it isn't a make or break and that's just me being fussy. 10/10, would love to fall down dozens of times and get back up to learn again :) Update: 6 Months after my initial review - I'm 100% keeping this as a 5 Star Location, I'm always eager to visit and I had a lovely party here with some friends who shared my love of Rollerskating for the day. Thankyou to all of the staff working here, I've always appreciated the effort they continue putting into this amazing place :)

Best for families with children new to skating who need a non-intimidating first experience ā the separate beginners room removes the anxiety of sharing ice with confident skaters. The generational aspect is real: many parents skated here as children and are now bringing their own kids. Staff patience with beginners is the venue's strongest asset.

āWe had never been here before and as a last minute decision to go, the staff were wonderful. We were able to hire everything we needed, it wasn't overcrowded so plenty of room to skate freely. They even have a seperate beginners room out the back!!! Will definitely come back šā

āI'm so glad, this place has survived the test of time! I used to come here 30+ years ago. Now I'm back with my kids. Great, helpful, friendly staff!ā

Overview
Rollerway Skate Centre is a Geelong institution with over three decades of continuous operation. The main rink is spacious enough for comfortable skating without crowding. A dedicated beginners room at the rear of the venue gives first-time skaters space to find their feet away from faster skaters. Stability frames are available for young children. Skate and blade hire is available at the door. Staff are consistently described as kind, patient and non-judgmental toward beginners.
