🏆 Family Action Verdict

One of Melbourne's most comprehensive playgrounds for children of all ages and abilities. The inclusive design is genuine — Liberty swings and wide paths make it fully accessible, not just nominally so. Best visited on overcast days or early morning in summer, as the black swing and flying fox surfaces heat up significantly on sunny days.

I recently visited the Ross Reserve All Abilities Playground in Noble Park, and I can’t say enough good things about this incredible space!. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this playground was designed with everyone in mind. The layout is spacious and welcoming, with wide, smooth paths that make it easy for wheelchairs, scooters, or little legs to explore every corner. The variety of play equipment is truly impressive—there’s something for kids (and adults!) of all ages and abilities. My favorites were the massive Kanopé play towers connected by a thrilling wire tunnel, leading to a giant twirly slide that had the kids squealing with delight. For those who love a challenge, the rope ladders and climbing walls are a fantastic touch, while the accessible ramp to the smaller tower ensures no one misses out on the fun. The cubby house at ground level was a sweet spot for quieter play, and the inclusive swings—especially the face-to-face one—brought smiles to everyone. What sets this park apart is the thoughtful inclusion of sensory and interactive elements. The musical play features and water play zones were a huge hit, sparking creativity and laughter. The flying fox and “hamster wheel” added an adventurous vibe that kept the older kids entertained for hours. I also loved how the natural “Red Gum Ecology” theme ties everything together, with shady trees and nature-inspired play areas making it feel like a little oasis. The facilities are top-notch too—clean public toilets, a Changing Places facility, and plenty of parking nearby made the visit stress-free. Whether you’re there for a quick play or a full day out with a picnic, this playground delivers. It’s a shining example of what an all-abilities space should be: inclusive, exciting, and full of heart. Ross Reserve has quickly become our go-to spot, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

What a great playground, play space and park for kids and families alike. There is SO much to entertain everyone. My only criticism would be that on a sunny day (it was midday and approx 25deg when we were there today), the black surfaces of the swings and flying fox were really hot so we couldn't play on them without a towel put down. Also a shiny surfaced slide is definitely not ideal for a sunny day. Loads of shade around the edges of the playground and some lovely grassed area, under cover bbqs,.toilets and its fenced! So much to love about this playground, we will be back with herds of friends!

Discovered this park for the first time today and we were blown away! It is huge and has so many different things for kids to do! The park was immaculate and even though it was busy, there are so many different things to play on that it wasn’t overcrowded and you didn’t have to wait to use anything. They have ample grass for picnics and paths throughout for prams, kids bikes, scooters and wheelchairs. They also have tables and bbqs so it would be a great place for a get together. The kids absolutely loved it and we can’t wait to come back!
