The competition 50m pool very incredibly fast. Cool water salted chlorine water helps with buoyancy in competitive swimming, as well as the three meter deep pools. The pools and facilities were also nice, clean bathrooms and showers but it would be nicer if the showers could have temperature change. Additionally, SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre uses the best of the best technologies: precise Swiss Timing touchpads, OSB-11 diving blocks and STARTTIME-V starters. This place has inspired me and changed my perspective on local state facilities within Adelaide. Even my eleven-year-old son loves swimming in the kiddie pools, he’s trying to become a competitive swimming one day, and SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre is definitely helping. Thanks for this greater place, Jason

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for competitive swimmers and families with babies enrolled in structured programs β€” the 50m pool and baby classes are the facility's strongest offerings.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Call ahead to check pool lane availability β€” adult aerobics and swim classes regularly reduce casual swim access
⏰Waterslides require a swim test and are for ages 10 and up β€” complete the test early to avoid queues
🎟️WIBIT inflatable course is ticketed separately from general admission for ages 6+
πŸš—Baby Aqua Sensory Play runs from eight weeks β€” book structured sessions for guaranteed pool time

β€œI am a competitor coming from Victoria, the pool is great, please keep the 3 metre depth, the pool is a little salty but nothing a swimming can’t handle, the staff are lovely, didn’t like my friends celebration but overall are very helpful!”

β€œMy baby and I usually come here for Aqua sensory play since Aug 2024. My baby really enjoys being here as there are lots of toys. The instructors are great, very nice and friendly, especially Jen.”

β€œThe pool is quite warm i wasn't used to that. I also didn't like how the small pool we were swimming in was just taken over and lanes put up without notice making us feel like we had to go home at 330pm on the hottest day of the year. The grass area out the back was poorly looked after and overgrown. The chemical smell was almost overwhelming, it made my eyes water. Im not planning to go back to Adelaide but I'd definitely find somewhere else to swim next time.”
