We've been members here for years and totally love it. They've renovated, especially with a cool new section where you can check out native marine life like biscuit starfish and spider crabs, and explore the rocky shore. The interactive rockpool is awesome for all ages, and their staff are super helpful, explaining all the species. One young Asian guy, I didn't catch his name, was amazing – he'd notice us looking at something and then drop extra facts. My toddler was hooked and learned so much from him! We went on a Friday around lunchtime. This place always delivers with spot talks all day long. We ended up staying over four hours. If you're coming from far, they have designated parking for a discount, but definitely check their website first. This time, we parked across at Crown Multi Parking and only paid $15 since we arrived before lunch and left around 4 pm. Their membership is worth buying especially if you have a little and wants to come for few hours. I highly recommend.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children who are genuinely curious about marine life β€” the interactive rockpool, knowledgeable staff talks, and rare breeding programs give it real depth beyond standard aquarium visits. Members can easily fill four-plus hours across multiple visits as exhibits rotate.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Plan for four or more hours to cover all zones and catch staff spot talks throughout the day
⏰Membership pays off quickly if you plan to return β€” young children rarely exhaust the exhibits in one visit
🎟️Crown Multi Parking offers a discounted rate if arriving before midday
πŸš—The Rocky Shores interactive rockpool is hands-on β€” dress kids in clothes that can get damp

β€œSea Life is well worth a visit. It has many interesting displays with huge tanks containing a variety of fish, rays, and several species of shark. I loved seeing the shark egg cases which were present in several tanks. This is also the only aquarium in the world that successfully breeds sea horses and sea dragons. I learned so much here. I would recommend a visit for anyone.”
