The Berry Dairy
π Maffra, VIC
Seasonal family farm in Maffra open October to May with strawberry picking, a petting zoo featuring goats and lambs, and an on-site kitchen serving nachos, sliders, iced coffee, and fresh ice cream.
If you love good food, good service, animals, and strawberries - then this is the place for you! I absolutely loved it here. Stopped in on a road trip as something different to do and it was better than we were expecting. The food & drinks (nachos & sliders, iced coffee and strawberry thickshake) were delicious. (We spent Barbour $25-$35 per person per meal). Only thing to note is their website says they stop taking orders at 2:30 - we were there on a Thursday and it was 2pm that they stopped taking orders - we got there at 1:50 and just made it. Picking the strawberries was so much fun and we got some amazing delicious strawberries from it. They have a petting farm for $5 a person and that provides you a bag of feed for the animals. We chose not pay but just walked along the fence and adored from a far the cute baby goats. Beautiful scenery - highly recommend taking your pit stop here next time instead of the highway Maccas.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families willing to make the Gippsland trip for a genuinely hands-on farm experience β strawberry picking, feeding lambs, and fresh food in one stop. The October-to-May season means it fits school holiday periods well. Allow at least two hours β reviewers who come expecting a quick visit consistently end up staying longer.

βWe took over 2 hours to drive here because I had see something on Tik Tok or Instagram and although it was extremely windy today we were not disappointed. First up we picked a punnet of strawberries π I love that they donβt spray them. You pay $3 each to enter and then pay per punnet size. Then the petting Zoo, the funniest experience definitely worth the $5 each. I could have played with the animals for ages. The highlight - Strawberry slushie and the scones. The Slushie delicious soooo good. The scones soft and fluffy just perfect. Service excellent and a fun place to visit. Great job to the team β€οΈβ

βWe absolutely love The Berry Dairy and the new petting zoo experience is so much fun that we have already done it twice since it started β€οΈ getting to feed the baby goat and lambs was my daughters favourite thing when we went here for her birthday & seeing Cricket all grown up was awesome. If you love baby animals, strawberries and a chill but lovely little cafe then this is the place for you. The new playgrounds are awesome and there is something for all ages to do. Just a great little family business, with a very hardworking owner. We will go back very soonβ

βHad an amazing experience at The Berry Dairy! Strawberry picking was so much fun, and the farm has lots of animals you can feed and pet (for a small fee), which is perfect for families and friends. The food quality and portion sizes were great, though the service was quite slow and could use some improvement. Overall, a fantastic day out β highly recommend!β
