The Messy Patch
đ Mount Duneed, VIC
The Messy Patch in Mount Duneed near Geelong runs structured 90-minute sensory play sessions for babies, toddlers, and primary-school-age kids. Activities span indoor and outdoor zones covering painting, water play, and tactile exploration.
We had our son's 5th birthday party at the Messy Patch and highly recommend to anyone planning a childs party. We had a range of guests from 1-7 years old and found there was plenty of activities for all ages and abilities. The party was such a stress free day as the kids can run around playing at all the activity stations and the best part was being able to finish the party and not have to deal with the mess! We were able to bring all our own food and set up in the party room, the staff were amazing at guiding us on when to sit all the kids down to eat and cake etc. Thank you Messy Patch, we will be back for more messy fun soon!
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with babies, toddlers, and children up to around 7 who want immersive, mess-focused sensory play without the home cleanup. The 90-minute session structure works well for short attention spans, and the rotating activity schedule rewards regular attendance. Birthday party hire accommodates guests aged 1-7 in a single booking.

âVisited last month with my boys. This place is absolutely fantastic for little ones. There is such a great variety of sensory play both indoors and outdoors. You can enjoy this venue in all sorts of weather. We visited on a rainy day and particularly enjoyed painting cars, playing outside in puddles with dinosaurs, mud kitchen set up and the veterinarian set up inside. There are some untimed parking spots available outside. Toilets with baby change facilities available. Small cafe set up with drinks.â

âWell set-up and run indoor & outdoor fun for toddlers and primary-school-age kids. Plus proper coffee for parents & carers. At first it seemed a tad pricey, but it's 90 minutes of highly-engaging play with no tidying or cleaning at the end! You just drive away with tired children - hurrah! No matter what your child's into, there's bound to be toys here that will interest them. There are toilets & changing facilities on site, plus parking too. Money well spent.â

âWe LOVE the Messy Patch. So much fun and mess and the best part- my house stays tidy! Both my children never want to leave. We love that the activities get changed out every 6 weeks so there is always new toys and areas to explore. I love that during winter the water outside is warm which makes it very inviting for the kids to get involved in outside play. 10/10 recommend and priced so well for what is on offer.â
