Area 51 is a brand new venue in Sydney, having been to the Underwood location, we were excited to hear they were opening in Sydney. We went on day two with VIP tickets for 9am. Arrived at 8:30am, the place was empty, we were served straight away and walked in bang on 9am with zero issues. Couldn’t fault the entry process at all. Had a chat with the manager and the front desk staff who were genuinely lovely, professional, and clearly doing their best. Yes, they got absolutely swamped in the first couple of day’s, that’s what happens when a huge new venue opens and everyone rushes in at once. There’s only so much training you can do before real world chaos hits. What really stood out (unfortunately) were some entitled parents. Honestly, some adults behaved worse than the kids. The kind of people who think leaving a 1 star review is a personality trait, yet would fall apart trying to run a venue for five minutes. As someone who owns a hospitality venue myself, I know how quickly kitchens and staff get smashed during peak periods, especially during opening week. We didn’t complain, because perspective matters and things always improve once systems settle. Give this place a chance. The staff deserve it, the venue is great, and with a bit of patience from parents, it’ll be even better. We’ll definitely be back.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 3–12 who want an extended premium play session — the scale and variety of attractions consistently keep children engaged across multiple hours. VIP early-entry tickets are worth it on weekends to avoid peak crowds. The toddler zone is enclosed and age-appropriate for under-3s.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

We had such an amazing experience at Area 51! Honestly, it has completely raised the standard of indoor playgrounds in Sydney. The facilities are modern, new and exceptionally clean. Everything feels well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. The play equipment is not only impressive in scale but also incredibly fun and engaging for kids of different ages. You can really tell that a lot of effort has gone into creating a space that stimulates both physical activity and imagination. What impressed me the most is the level of service. There are staff members everywhere, attentively watching over the children, ensuring safety and assisting whenever needed. As a parent, that sense of security makes all the difference — I could truly relax knowing my child was safe. The party rooms are fantastic as well. They’re well-organised, beautifully arranged, and the food was surprisingly good (which is rare for kids’ venues!). The whole party process felt smooth, efficient and thoughtfully planned. Area 51 has genuinely elevated the “taking kids out” experience in Sydney. It’s no longer just about letting kids burn energy — it feels premium, safe and enjoyable for the whole family. Highly recommended!

The best indoor playground for kids that we have been to. So many different activities to do, including the snow room and virtual reality, too many to list you, have to see it for yourself! My kids loved it here! My oldest daughter went on the virtual reality roller coaster ride four times. It was her favourite along with the monkey bars area which is a bit like the ninja warrior course for kids. They also really love the slides and the snow room. We all had a great day. Bring some spare clothes for the snow room so that you're warm in there it's -6° C The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The manager was also nice and on hand to help out. Highly recommend this place.

We had such an amazing experience here! My son and his father enjoyed the whole venue from start to finish. There was so much to do. My son especially loved the slides, he couldn't stop going back for "just one more turn"! It was so nice seeing him so excited and having that much fun. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made sure everyone felt safe while still having lots of fun. It was great seeing them both so engaged and genuinely enjoying themselves. It made the day really special for our family. We'll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun day out!
