📍 Beenleigh, QLD
Preserved collection of 40-plus original buildings where volunteer guides demonstrate historic trades including an operational printing press. Educational school programs and special events run throughout the year.
Fantastic place to visit. So much to see. Bob the printer is awesome. The workshop with old forestry saws - excellent. Forgot your name sorry. The school house was very interesting and informative I must say. Do many volunteers, too many to mention, all doing a top job of keeping everyone entertained and educated!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with school-age children who enjoy hands-on learning and interactive demonstrations. The printing press demonstration and schoolhouse exhibit are standout moments. Bring bread or meat scraps to interact with the resident bird, and allow a full day to cover the full collection of buildings at a relaxed pace.

“Will definitely be returning. They have a bird bomb diving you so bring bread/meat to throw at it. If we make friends with it, then it might not be so scared. Great places to have a picnic though they do have a basic cafe”

“Cute, interesting museum the whole family enjoyed. Was great to be able to step into the buildings and get a feel for life back then. Lot's of information and a great printing press presentation. We ate in the cafe which was reasonably priced and had a nice outdoor seating area. All the workers and volunteers were friendly and helpful.”

“A good place to see and relax but i went solo, no tour guide and some buildings were dirty and smelly like the rural school and theatre and some cottages. I understand they are old but quite unpleasant.”
