1 / 3Boulder Heads: Indoor Rock Climbing/Yoga Gym, Sunshine Coast
📍 Baringa, QLD
Indoor bouldering gym at Baringa on the Sunshine Coast with no ropes or harnesses — thick mats cover all landings. Beginner fundamentals courses, birthday party hire, two MoonBoards, and regular social events including Pizza DJ nights.
Had an absolute ball at Boulder Heads in Aura! I visited twice in one week, once with some friends and family to try it out and a few days later with a skilled bouldering friend. Half of the wall was different within a few days which I thought was great! Keeping it fresh! The overall layout is great, it gives a real community vibe, plenty of room to cheer on your friends or be inspired by other skilled climbers! Kid friendly, my 9 and 10 year olds loved it and found suitable challenges to overcome. We'll definitely return, we're big fans of functional fitness!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children around 6+ who want to try bouldering in a low-pressure, genuinely welcoming space. The staff-to-visitor ratio and ongoing coaching during sessions mean beginners rarely feel lost. The compact size works in your favour for younger kids — less overwhelming than a large gym.

“Took 6.5 boy 9.5 girl grandchildren to this today! Was a bit concerned initially as no safety ropes but Dan and did a solid into and safety talk. Range of climbs for different levels kept these two going for the 90 mins session with extra instruction, incentives and skill sessions. Very pleased with this option to keep kids away from screens and build new skills. Thoroughly recommend.”

“Such a wonderful first time bouldering experience. I was greated and taken through the whole process, I found it fun, safe and personally fulfilling. I attended a yoga class which was lovely also. I’ll definitely be going again soon. Other climbers were friendly and the whole place had a welcoming vibe!”

“The people at this gym make it. Clearly passionate and keen to support people trying to get into climbing. Some sick climbs while hitting the beaches. Small gym, but reasonable membership fees. Maybe a bit limited if it's your regular, but they have two sweet moon boards, so probably ok.”
