Dragon Park Playground
📍 Officer, VIC
Free themed playground in Officer with a large climbable dragon structure — rope net leads into the mouth, steep slide down the neck. BBQ facilities on site. No toilets. Best for ages 5–12. Metal equipment heats significantly on warm days.
Nice place for a picnic or just have some fun with the young ones.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 5–12 who enjoy imaginative and physically challenging play. The dragon centrepiece is genuinely impressive and photo-worthy. Visit on cooler days or in the morning — metal surfaces heat quickly and shade is sparse.

“Nice themed park. BBQ facilities available. Couple of shade areas but cannot really get rid of the sun. No toilet facilities and once the kids had enough of the dragon there is little to do. Picturous!”

“This playground looks really impressive but unfortunately there are some issues. The whole thing cooks on a warm day because it's all metal and it really lacks shade. There's not much for young kids to do either. They've made the parts for older kids quite risky and challenging which creates a bit more fun in what are really fairly basic slides and climbing things etc but they've gone far too simple on the areas intended for younger kids. No swings suitable for little kids, fencing around the climbing areas is too high for younger kids so it's too dangerous to let them up. My 2 year old ends up bored with the little kid stuff within a few minutes and wants to follow his older brothers but the dragon slide and higher areas of the park are too dangerous for him so we never last long there.”

“Dragon Park Expectations are a bit underwhelming compared to the photos. There are two seating areas — one has two BBQs, the other has none. There are no toilets on site. The park itself isn’t very old, so the trees are still establishing and shade is limited. The playground is clearly aimed at younger kids rather than older ones. Overall, it’s neat and functional, but pretty basic at this stage, could of been more than it is. Cardinia shire council have done a good good but missed the mark on a great job.”

Overview
Dragon Park Playground in Officer centres on a large dragon structure that kids climb via a rope net leading into the mouth before sliding down the neck. Two BBQ seating areas are on site — one has twin BBQs, the other does not. The surrounding park is well-maintained. No toilets on site. Trees are recently planted and establishing, so shade across the play area is sparse. Metal construction absorbs heat quickly on warm days, making the equipment uncomfortably hot by mid-morning in summer.
