1 / 2Event Cinemas - Kotara
đ Kotara, NSW
Multi-screen complex at Kotara offering V-Max large-format screens, Gold Class premium seating, and standard sessions. Free parking, Cinebuzz rewards, and advance screenings round out the offering.
Went to gold class the other day the staff were amazing there was an issue with the movie and the staff promptly fixed the issue while coping abuse from other customers. Just wanted to thank the staff for their amazing service! Some people are very impatient these days and are very quick to blame! We will be back!
đ Family Action Verdict
V-Max is the strongest format choice for families who want the big-screen experience in the Newcastle area. Gold Class works for special occasions with older children, the in-seat ordering system via wifi has reliability issues â order at the counter before entering if connectivity is a concern.

â30 MINUTES OF ADS. Listen the cinema is clean, the staff were lovely, the chairs do squeak a lot but it's a cinema đ¤ˇ. But, you cannot tell people that a movie starts at 3:05 and not start the actual thing until 3:32. Half of an hour showing bank ads for companies that we've known about since childhood is such a ridiculous theft of our time. It's $25 each for a ticket plus $10 for a drink and then you make us sit through CommBank and Telstra's ad campaigns as if that's what we've paid to be there to see. There were only 2 adverts for actual upcoming movies. If there's nothing to be done about it, then at least tell us what time we'll be out of the cinema. I understand that would mean admitting that there is half an hour at the start of a 140min movie in which we will not actually be watching a movie, but still come on.â

âPaid for two Gold Class tickets. Mobile data would not work inside the cinema so we connected to the cinemas own wifi to purchase snacks and drinks to our seats. This did not work either so we had to leave and miss some of the movie to go purchase our snacks. Which took another 20 minutes to arrive. Would be 5 stars if we were able to utilise the facilities in which we paid extra to haveâ
