Feast
π Upper Ferntree Gully, VIC
Buffet dining venue with a large enclosed climbing tower and slide playground visible from the dining area. Parents eat as children play in the adjacent indoor structure.
We were really happy with the buffet's selection of dishes. The food was fresh and plentiful and the ambience pleasant. Overall, staff were attentive and friendly... thank you to Alicia who went out of her way for us as our waitress!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with younger children who want a relaxed dining format alongside enclosed active play. The dining-plus-playground combination works well in concept, and a positive visit depends heavily on how well the kitchen manages replenishment during busy sittings.

βBooked for Motherβs Day only to be left completely disappointed. -Poorly trained staff -No food available at arrival -Staff could not manage how much and when to cook, there were customer shouting for food -Food topped up only once empty -Not enough staff -Poorly managed since arrival, with queues until outside the building for no reason, patrons cutting the queue with none managing it -No queue system for the food station either, it was a free for all No management tried to organise the queues at any point. Management seemed completely unprepared and not ready for the event, using their word βit is the biggest event of the yearβ I had to ask for people to come and take the empty plates on our table, as no one was doing that. The barmaid didnβt want to be there for sure, poor service. After everyone had to stuff themselves with chicken and fish nuggets, magically all the trays were full. When it came to dessert choices, again no food available and the ice cream machine was constantly taken over by the same people or having to be repaired/topped up so unavailable, with the management again not caring of anything. Donβt waste your money here, it felt like a scam, not enough food to feed all the bookings they had and poor quality food. Keep your $42 and spend them somewhere else. I will never ever come here again.β

ββ 1-Star Google Review I had a very unpleasant experience at Feast Buffet (1130 Burwood Hwy, Upper Ferntree Gully). I arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes before opening with my guests. When my guests were about to enter the restaurant, an Asian female staff member rudely stopped us and forced us out. She pointed at the opening hours sign and told us, in a condescending and disrespectful tone, that we were not allowed to enter and must wait 30 more minutes. I fully understand restaurant opening hours β that was not the problem. The problem was her extremely rude, commanding, and humiliating attitude. She could have explained the situation politely, but instead chose to treat us with clear disrespect. Based on her behavior, I strongly felt targeted and discriminated against as Chinese customers. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in the hospitality industry and leaves a very bad impression of the restaurant. I hope the management takes this issue seriously and provides proper customer service training. Because of this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.β

βVery disappointed excepted an online booking for 13.45 lunch got there paid before 129 with our 2 small grandchildren only to be confronted with not much of anything left dried out food kids looking forward to ice cream (broken) but manager on duty did help with that but would never recommend it to anyone as I work for a large supermarket in the area and am often asked for recommendations. Please donβt offer or except late booking if you canβt offer the same standard of food that the other people got a 12 . P.s always ask to see whatβs available before you pay if going to a later meal setting in a buffet situation.β
