A truly beautiful and tranquil place right off the busy Bellarine fwy. There’s a gorgeous natural dam with everything from Swans, many breeds of ducks and so many other breeds of wild birds. At the right time of year you’ll see egret and ducklings which are just gorgeous.(Be wary when the ducklings and egrets are around as mum can be very protective!) With heaps of offstreet parking, there are some beautiful walking tracks around the dam, an amazing adventure children’s playground with awesome and interesting facilities for kids of all ages surrounding a huge sandpit with swings for even children with disabilities. It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into this wonderful public facility. Around the adventure playground and barbecue facilities are walking paths and a public toilet. There’s great barbecue facilities, picnic tables and facilities for washing up afterwards. During school time, it’s really quiet and Sareen and a lovely place to take your dog for a walk and of course to be expected, when schools out the playground is a major attraction for families and kids with lots of adventure in mind. Situated on the corner of Melaleuca Road and the Bellarine freeway, just Pullin through the open gates into a large car park. The ducks and swans love for a feed and will swim right up to you – during breeding season they’re a little bit shy of course but as their egrets and ducklings grow, the more friendlier they become.! I know this place for family barbecues or just a stroll and a short time with the ducks are a great walk for your dog. So close to suburbia yeah that seems you’re in the middle of wilderness once you drive through the gates. A little gem not far from the heart of Geelong.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families wanting a full outdoor day that combines active play with wildlife and nature. The BBQ facilities, toilets, and generous parking make it genuinely easy to stay two or three hours. Children aged 3–10 get the most from the equipment variety. Avoid visiting immediately after heavy rain β€” the ground gets muddy.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Free untimed parking available with easy access directly off the Bellarine Freeway
⏰Bring bread for the ducks and swans β€” exercise caution near nesting areas in spring
🎟️Avoid visiting within a day of heavy rain β€” the ground gets muddy throughout the park
πŸš—The two play zones suit different ages β€” younger children gravitate to water and sand, older kids to climbing structures

β€œVisited this beautiful place a few weeks ago with my family. Parking was readily available and untimed. Lots of shelter and picnic benches as well as bbqs. Toilet block close by and clean. Large playground area suitable for 3-10 years old with climbing frames, slides, tunnels and water play. Nothing for under 3’s to do. Lovely walking track with a few bridges over and around the pond.”

β€œNice sanctuary to bring the family, lots of things to see and do while your here, bbq area with shaded picnic benches, water, toilets and dogs welcomed too. A little wet and soggy after rain, not exactly ideal if you u dont want a muddy pooch. Can see on warmer days this would be ideal.”
