1 / 3Geraldton Aquarena
π Wonthella, WA
Geraldton Aquarena in Wonthella offers indoor heated pools and an outdoor pool, a 45m water slide, swimming lessons, and aqua-aerobics. Situated next to Geraldton Public Golf Course with an on-site cafe.
Visiting Geraldton Aquarena mid morning from Albany has been a very pleasurable experience. The changerooms and pool surrounds were clean, terrific layout, the pool water temperature pleasant for the weather and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Aquarena has a 45 metre water slide which was not due to open until 4pm but the lovely Julie opened it especially for us and it quickly became very popular with other children and adults. Big thanks to Julie and the team for making our visit a memorable experience.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families who plan to swim β lap swimmers, lesson participants, and kids who want to ride the slide. Children aged 3β8 get the most from the water slide; the outdoor pool suits recreational swimming for older kids and adults. Families expecting play equipment or waterpark features beyond the single slide will find the offering sparse.

βLocated next door to the Geraldton Public Golf Course is the Aquarena Aquatic Centre. The facility caters for all ages with swimming lessons, aqua-aerobics, lap training and general swimming. Thereβs an outdoor pool and heated indoor pools, for those cooler winter months.β

βReally nice place, glad the outdoor pool is open. Itβs good for what itβs made for - too swim but itβs boring if you donβt plan on doing laps the only slide is filled with 3-8 year olds and goes to the kiddie pool although you can fit adults itβs very overrun and itβs the only slide there, the outdoor pool is also boring no slides and no accessibility to balls/pool toys to buy or borrow to even accelerate the experience. And the outdoor pool was closed when I went until 4pm when it got busier and the slide is also closed until 4pm There is a canteen/food store, has lots of lollies there a good selection of cool drinks as well, but the lady that serves there is quite rude starting off by saying nothing is going to be cooked apart from chips then when we ordered two boxes she looked at me and my boyfriend like we were insane and made a rude comment about the amount we ordered. I regret ordering that much anyway because the food was horrible! Couldnβt even finish half. The gravy is also just as bad $31 for gravy, 2 chips, a drink and a tiny bag of chips.β

Overview
The Aquarena runs both indoor heated pools for year-round lap swimming and an outdoor pool for warmer months. The 45m water slide is the main drawcard for younger children and empties into a shallow pool. Swimming lessons and aqua-aerobics run on a scheduled timetable. Clean changerooms and pleasant water temperatures are noted consistently. The on-site canteen has drawn complaints about pricing and food quality β consider bringing food if visiting for a long session.
