Hopscotch Play Cafe
π Narre Warren South, VIC
Indoor play cafe in Narre Warren South combining a child-safe play area with cafe dining. Popular for toddler and preschool birthday parties, with dedicated staff and a relaxed parent seating area.
I had my daughterβs 5th birthday on a Saturday the 14th of June at the hopscotch play cafe. I was extremely happy of the service and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves as did the parents! One of the main comments from my guest was that they appreciated it was a play area without the play centre chaos! (Aesthetically pleasing!) The gated area gives peace of mind that kids stay safe while you chat amongst yourselves, my only comment is that the kids chairs could do with a bit of clean, I did notice food stained on the back of the chair which was dried and a caked on a bit. This could have been from an earlier group as I was the last booking for the day. I also am really fussy with my coffee and hot chocolates, especially being lactose intolerant, so, perhaps further training on making coffees with the different milks, as lactose free is a bit harder to camouflage the taste. I also appreciated the care they provided in ensuring that the food was nut free and the flexibility of me catering for my vegan friends and bringing my own platter for them. I highly recommend this venue! I would go back again and so will all my friends!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children under 6, particularly for birthday parties where parents want a managed, low-stress experience. The intimate scale suits smaller gatherings better than large groups. Families with children who have severe food allergies should confirm allergy protocols directly with the venue before attending.

ββοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ We recently celebrated my sonβs 3rd birthday at Hopscotch Play CafΓ© and it was absolutely wonderful! He and his little friends had an absolute ball exploring all the play areas, while the parents had peace of mind knowing everything was safe and child-friendly. The two dedicated staff members allocated to our party made everything run so smoothly, and the owners were so lovely and easy to communicate with from start to finish. The whole experience was convenient, stress-free, and so much fun. Highly recommend Hopscotch Play CafΓ© for kidsβ parties!β

β3 stars The concept of this venue is fantastic, and the coffee was genuinely great. My child really enjoyed their time here, which I appreciated. However, a couple of areas need improvement. The toddler grazing plate was disappointing β the crackers were stale and bendy, and the cucumber didnβt seem fresh. Cleanliness also needs attention. The toddler sofas and play areas were noticeably stained and felt like they hadnβt been properly cleaned in some time. A brief reset during the session, similar to whatβs done in childcare settings, would make a big difference. Even a quick 10-minute tidy halfway through could help keep the environment comfortable, hygienic, and less overwhelming for children. Overall, itβs a great idea and has lots of potential. Iβll definitely visit again and hope this was just an off day β happy to update my review if things improve.β

βAn expensive play date for your kids. $12 for entry, per child, with expensive food and drinks. A small seating area with a small menu. On really toasties and croissants for food. They had a kids platter which was quite nice, decent servings. The service was good. Coffee was decent but not very strong. Only problem was the music playing. Was playing music that wasnβt appropriate for kids. Playing usher and RNB artists.β

Overview
Hopscotch Play Cafe provides an enclosed indoor play space for young children alongside a cafe serving coffee, toasts, croissants, and kids platters. The venue is set up for birthday parties with dedicated staff managing the event, and reviewers consistently note the play area feels more intimate than a large play centre. The cafe seating area is small. Parents should the venue operates a strict allergen policy β raise any severe allergies directly with staff before booking.
