My 2.5yo son loves going every week! Open, unstructured play on different kinds of equipment helps him develop his motor skills, risk assessment/ management capabilities and confidence. The floor is fully gym matted so tumbles don't hurt. There's a great variety of equipment, including crash mats, soft gymnastics-style blocks and steps, wood boxes of different kinds for climbing and jumping off, bars at all different heights, monkey bars and a bunch of extra toys (soft toys, witches hats, throwing rings, etc). They're arranged differently every week to encourage exploration of different ways to use each item. A great Montessori style environment with multi use equipment to encourage imagination and exploration. Absolutely perfect environment for natural motor development, risk skills and really fun play. It's free play during the 1-4yo sessions so the kids all play however they like with a supportive coach available to demonstrate different options and help us parents in guiding our kids when needed. Plus I get to play too and learn about better ways to use my body to prevent injury and do fun ninja stuff. I can't recommend this enough, I haven't seen anything else like it that allows kids to explore their limits safely, try out new skills safely and comes with developmentally appropriate coaching. Chris is super friendly and interacts at the kids pace, showing fun options for the equipment while giving them plenty of space to play however they choose. The perfect activity for an active toddler that loves to climb, jump, roll, run and everything else.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

The strongest pick in Berwick for kids aged 5–14 who find traditional team sports a poor fit — the individual progression model means every child works at their own level without comparison pressure. Toddler sessions from 18 months give younger siblings an entry point.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Equipment changes weekly — no two sessions are identical, so regular attendance stays fresh
Gym-matted floors cover the entire space — shoes come off, tumbles do not hurt
🎟️Toddler sessions start from 18 months with coaching support throughout
🚗Multiple program tracks: Alpha, Core, Ultra, Gutsy Girls, Chase Tag, and Stunt School

We love risky! For a child that doesn’t quite fit the perfect square, didn’t enjoy ‘team’ sports and had trouble concentrating, we tried risky kids over 3 years ago and have not looked back! Starting from the Alpha program at 8yrs and working our way through to now Ultra, joined the future leaders program and now their new stunt school - gives our son confidence, and a safe place to burn energy and learn awesome new skills. All the coaches we’ve had have been brilliant and energetic, and learning in fun ways. Hamish says hi!

We love our sessions with Coach Jono and Coach Travis. They are super engaging and fantastic are demo’ing the moves and explaining the mindsets. My daughter loves to go and gets so happy when she does her moves. It’s a fantastic combination of physical and mental and perfectly tailored for the toddler age group. The set up is always on point and the place is always very clean and taken care of. We’ve got a lot of going so far and would definitely recommend it other families.

My son has been attending Risky Kids, and he absolutely loves it! The program is fantastic for building confidence, resilience, and important life skills in a really fun and engaging way. The coaches are so supportive and genuinely care about each child’s development. I’ve noticed such a positive change in his attitude and willingness to try new things. Highly recommend Risky Kids to any parent looking for something unique and empowering for their child!

Equipment is rearranged weekly so kids face new challenges every session. Fully gym-matted floors mean tumbles are painless. Coaches Jono and Travis are called out repeatedly in reviews for their ability to teach physical moves alongside mental resilience. Programs span toddler free play through to advanced teen sessions.
