1 / 3iFLY Downunder
π Penrith, NSW
iFLY Downunder in Penrith runs indoor skydiving in a 14-foot wind tunnel from age 3. Standard packages include training, safety gear, and a minimum of two 50-second flights. The High Fly add-on extends rides to the top of the tunnel.
Iβve been to iFLY a couple of times in 2022, and every visit has been a great experience. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and professional, making you feel safe and supported throughout the whole process. The activity itself is an indoor skydiving experience in a vertical wind tunnel, and itβs truly unique β you get the sensation of flying without needing to jump out of a plane. One important tip: make sure to arrive at least one hour before your booking time. The website also mentions this, and itβs absolutely necessary. Before you fly, the team gives you a short briefing about the theory behind the experience, plus instructions on body position and safety. They also provide all the gear, including the suit, helmet, and safety equipment. Once, I made the mistake of arriving only a few minutes before my scheduled session, and I almost didnβt have enough time to get ready properly. So I highly recommend arriving early! For beginners or those just wanting to try it out for fun, I suggest adding on the High Fly option. It costs extra, but itβs really worth it. The instructor will take you higher up in the tunnel, and the feeling is absolutely thrilling. Itβs an unforgettable add-on and especially fun if youβre visiting with kids or family. Overall, iFLY is a must-try experience if you want something exciting and different!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 9 and up seeking a high-adrenaline experience in a controlled setting. Nine-year-olds are repeatedly called out in reviews as the sweet spot β old enough to follow coaching cues and strong enough to hold body position. The High Fly add-on is consistently rated worth booking.

βTook my 9yo daughter for her birthday. The instructors are excellent, amending the rides for our different abilities. Clear training demonstrations and reminders throughout the session made me feel confident in doing the activity even though I was quietly sitting myself. It was an awesome indoor sky diving experience and we will be back in 2 weeks to take the longer Try The Sport sessions. Well worth the cost and drive to Penrith. Thanks to all the staff at iFly for giving my daughter a fantastic birthday!β

βSecond time we have been to iFly taking our nieces and nephews, and once again it was brillliant! This time we added the βhigh flyβ which we were lucky to be able to book on the day, where we were all able to go all the way up and down, awesome! Yup would Beto book that in advance as I didnβt realise that only certain times and sessions offered this, we got lucky on the day.β

βIndoor sky diving such as amazing experience, would recommend. Not as scary as you think. Youβre only in the tube for a total of roughly 2 minutes which goes by really fast, wish it was a little longer without having to pay for extra time. Apart from that, it was fun, instructions were clear and instructors were nice and helpful.β
