Amazing place Sometimes does get very busy and they have to allocate some of the 50m lanes to recreational (as in you can do anything in that lane) Sometimes someone does something and the wave pool or the 25m and the LTS pool are closed Waves are very nice I love body surfing on them it feels like I'm going so fast Nice plantlife Good gym facilities (but you need to be 13 to access them) Lots of programs and clubs and stuff you can join Food is overpriced, only get if you have to be there for 3 hours or you are a lifeguard (because u could just go to Maccas) Lockers are paid only now πŸ˜” Overall one of the best recreational centres and I reccomend to all people

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 5 and up who can swim confidently. The wave pool and artificial beach deliver an experience well above a standard council pool. Arrive early on weekends as lanes fill fast with classes. The toddler area closes periodically for chlorine adjustments β€” call ahead if that zone is essential for your visit.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Arrive early on weekends β€” lanes are often allocated to swim classes by mid-morning
⏰Bring coins or a card for paid lockers; free lockers were removed
🎟️The toddler area closes for chlorine maintenance without advance notice β€” call ahead if visiting solely for that zone
πŸš—Canteen pricing is high; bringing your own food and eating outside the pool area is an option

β€œIt’s been two years since my son started swimming at Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre, and the progress has been amazing. The trainers from Minky’s Swim School are true professionals β€” he moved up four levels in a short span of time, which says it all. The centre itself is spacious and well-maintained, with pools suitable for all ages. The wave pool is a highlight (starts after 9am and runs every 15 minutes). It’s also great for pool parties and has an indoor canteen. There’s plenty of parking, though it can get busy during peak times β€” so plan ahead.”

β€œThe swimming pool is spacious, with both outdoor and indoor areas. There is also an artificial beach. Definitely worth visiting.”

β€œI came to the swimming centre with both my husband and my daughter for a fun day out. I was approached by the lifeguard on duty not to film my family having a wonderful time and had to delete the video due to privacy issues. Even though I explained to them what was going on. The toddler area is always closed due to either high or low chlorine issues. They said they would fix the pump by summer which isn't good enough. All the lanes are always fully booked due to swimming aerobics or swimming lessons. I was advised to use the crowded swimming pool which is 1.5m deep for my daughter who is only 2 years old. Not a safe option and wasn't gonna take the risk of having my daughter drown. Prices are never the same each time . Different workers will charge what they think , which is very unprofessional. Unable to communicate with lifeguards if there's an issue . Only one worker at reception was willing to help out to try and solve the issue. Very nice of her to do”
