π Glen Waverley, VIC
Bouldering gym in Glen Waverley with V-scale graded routes from VB to V9+, a 2016 Moonboard, and freestanding boulders. Japanese-style vending machine on-site. Children 5+ permitted with adult supervision; kids are restricted to a designated area.
Onsight is a nice climbing gym in the suburbs. It is a bit on the small side compared to other gyms that are around in Melbourne The problems are really interesting and are very technical and on the outdoor style of climbing. It can be a bit difficult for beginners but there are climbs for all levels of climbing. Staff will definitely help with that and make the climbs feel more approachable. Resets are pretty often. Definitely a gym for you if you want to get stronger, great place to find projects. Staff are really friendly, supportive and are always keen for a chat and to take on any suggestions that you might have to improve the gym. They try to make you feel like you're part of a community. They also do events which is really nice and welcoming. They also have a vending machine that are like the ones in Japan. Sooooo when you go hard on a climb you can always buy a pocari sweat or if its cold you can buy a warm canned coffee. If you haven't checked it out yet, I definitely recommend going at least once.... and it will probably not be the last time you go :D
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with teens and adults who are developing or advancing their climbing technique. Families with younger children should confirm the exact boundaries of the kids area before paying entry β the restriction is real as it is not well communicated at the venue.

βLovely bouldering gym, the walls and routes were excellent. This place is beginner friendly and there is free chalk to use. This place uses the V scale for each route, ranging from VB to V10+ so there's plenty of options for all skill levels (though the highest there on the day was V9)β

βVery small climbing gym with a mood board set up. The route setting is super cool and interesting, would recommend if you like the V-scale grading.β

βVibes are good, seems like a place with a very loyal and friendly community. Setting is decent, and I love the 2016 moonboard in the back. The microwave and vending machine with fairly priced drinks is also appreciated. My only cons are poor ventilation in the moonboard area particularly, and a lack of air conditioning, although I did go on a warm day. The padding around the moonboard area is also a bit scruffy. This isnβt my local gym so I only really come here for the moonboard or when my local gym is closed. I will be back for more moonboard climbing on cooler days! P.S I first came here for the pachinko event which was super fun and awesome. My friends and I will be back next year for sure!β
