“Shocking experience Our experience at this venue was extremely disappointing and well below any reasonable standard of customer service. The staff member assigned to our booking arrived at the exact time our session was scheduled to begin, rather than beforehand as one would expect. We weren’t told of any lateness until I tried to call the contact number. We all stood outside waiting with no notice. When he arrived he immediately asked if we had the keys (what in the world). He then struggled to locate the key, which had been hidden under a weight, and once found, could not determine which door it opened. We had to assist him with that. When asked which court we were assigned to, his response was, “I don’t know, just pick one.” I then inquired about the recording service that was included in our booking. He stated he did not know how to operate it, and therefore it would not be available. I pointed out that the service was included in our booking and insisted it be provided. Eventually, he managed to activate it, but later referenced this as though it were a personal favor rather than part of the agreed service. The venue was dark, so I requested that the lights be turned on. He said he did not know where the switches were. I asked that he contact someone who did. He eventually located a clearly labeled power board indicating court numbers. When I again asked which court we were on, he replied that he still did not know - maybe court 6 or 8. I suggested he turn on the labeled switches to determine which lights corresponded. I pointed at the switches. At that point, he responded in a threatening manner, saying, “I wouldn’t touch that if I were you.” He then turned on only the entrance lights. When I asked for the court lights to be switched on, he raised his voice and said, “How much more light do you need?” I explained we needed the lighting directly above the court we were using, which seemed a basic and reasonable request. I informed him that this was a work event, and that the delays and confusion were costing us not only time but the wages of eight employees. His response was to complain about his own compensation, stating, “I even did the recording thing for you,” and “I took a cab here so I’m only getting paid $4 to be here.” I told him that perhaps he should have taken public transport. Adding to the unprofessional environment, he had friends present during his shift, who appeared to be there solely to keep him company. To end the session, he abruptly and rudely told my colleagues to "wrap it up" and gave us one minute to take a group photo before insisting we leave the premises. This level of service is completely unacceptable. The lack of preparation, disregard for basic responsibilities, and hostile attitude reflect very poorly on the management and training of staff. The entire experience was unprofessional from start to finish. I would strongly recommend reviewing staffing procedures and customer service standards, as this was not only frustrating but also entirely avoidable.”
