📍 Coburg, VIC
Premium cinema in the historic Pentridge prison complex with recliner seating, free evening parking, and a cafe on-site. Tuesday sessions offer discounted tickets. Palace membership provides additional savings.
Fantastic cinemas. Friendly staff and they greatly helped when we dropped (lost) our phone in between the comfy chairs in the dark. We visit usually on a Tuesday for half price tickets so great value. The Coburg Pentridge location is convenient because of easy (free) parking in the evening and there's a restaurant with bar opposite (Lucky Little Dumpling) to grab a bite to eat before the movie.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older children and teens who will appreciate the premium recliner experience and the Pentridge setting. Tuesday discounted sessions offer strong value. The precinct includes nearby dining options for a pre-film meal.

“Lovely new cinema with recliner chairs. You can get good discounts with being a Palace member. Staff have all been lovely. They had an Indiana Jones night when I was there once with live music, special snacks and an advanced screening. It is inside the beautiful old Pentridge prison”

“Comfortable, clean seats. Friendly staff and relatively clean toilets. What more can you ask for.”

“I love this cinema but for the last 6 months at least it is so understaffed. The bins are overflowing, the carpets are unclean and I haven't had my ticket checked. Such a shame as it is a good location, the seats are comfortable but it is always 1 or 2 staff members on who are doing everything. Tonight after seeing a movie I walked past 4 overflowing bins and ended up having to use one downstairs to discard my rubbish.”
