One of the BEST experiences i have ever had. I’ve never seen a kangaroo and it’s always been a dream of mine to get up close with a kangaroo, and not only was I able to get up close to one, i was surrounded by many, and i got to feed them and pet them. This is a visit you can’t ever miss if you’re ever in Phillip Island or Australia. The emus were a bit scary but they’re actually very chill and u can feed them easily, just dont get them to see you have a lot of food lol. I got up very close with many and was able to even sit in the middle between a bunch of emus resting on the ground. The park offers much more than this, one of my favorite spots was the reptile section, they were so active when i went and they were extremely beautiful. The koalas were close so you can get really good pictures of them and with them as well. They have a lot of birds and a black swan that really caught my eye, you can feed it too. I loved visiting this park, im not usually a fan of parks with animals or zoos but this was just a whole other experience, the animals are in their own environment and not in cages, they roam around freely and you get to see them. I wouldn’t visit the same zoo twice but i would visit this wildlife park multiple times!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families who want unscripted, close-contact time with Australian wildlife rather than a structured zoo experience. The free-roaming kangaroos and food-motivated emus deliver genuinely memorable moments for all ages. Combine with other Phillip Island attractions to fill a complete day on the island.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Purchase kangaroo feed at the entry gate β€” the animals are food-motivated and will approach closely
⏰Arrive early in the day when animals are most active
🎟️Wear enclosed shoes β€” the grounds are natural bush terrain with uneven paths
πŸš—Combine with the Penguin Parade for a full Phillip Island day out

β€œPhillip Island Wildlife Park is an absolutely wonderful place and a must-visit, especially for tourists. This is definitely one of the top 5 places on Phillip Island you should go first to experience Australia up close. Being able to feed kangaroos in a natural environment is truly unforgettable. It’s an incredible experience for both children and adults β€” pure joy, excitement, and emotions you simply can’t describe until you feel it yourself. In addition to kangaroos, you can feed and see other animals and enjoy a great variety of birds. It feels much more than a zoo β€” it’s a true wildlife experience, warm, engaging, and very well cared for. An amazing place that creates lifelong memories. Highly recommended!”

β€œThis place is really cool. I've never seen so many emus in one spot. The kangaroos and emus have a free roaming area and are very food motivated and will come right up to you. The enclosures are very large and all the animals seem very active and happy. The carpark doesnt really have any signage so its a bit chaotic. Despite how busy it was there was plenty of space and time to see all the animals. The Pelican enclosures was blocked off though. Not sure if you can see it at the moment.”
