Ripples Leisure Centre
📍 Saint Marys, NSW
Council-run facility with a 25-metre indoor pool, outdoor swimming areas, toddler play zones, and beach-style ramp access for wheelchairs and prams. EFTPOS only — no cash accepted.
Staff are great - facilities are good. My one complaint is that the spa and sauna are dominated and very popular with many middle aged men making it obviously very uncomfortable for women . I would like to see some mirnings or afternoons or days reserved for women only.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Families with accessibility needs or young toddlers will find the ramp-entry play zones and polite staff a strong drawcard. Swim lessons have had organisation and communication issues — frequent teacher changes and delayed progress cards are worth knowing before enrolling.

“You would really be doing your child a disservice by sending them to swimming lessons at St marys ripples - genuinely. - Unorganised - lack of communication - change in teacher every lesson - you have to physically chase people down for updates, we didn’t receive a swimming card until 5 lessons in (this card is used to give stickers to show child’s progress) When questioned why this wasn’t given initially on the first day I was advised “reception usually give all this information on the first day but they do get busy, I’m sure you can understand”. I can understand 100%, but 5 lessons in and still no card? Surely someone has been delegated the responsibility to ensure all new swimming lessons customers are given accurate info/resources. If you’re very laid back and don’t care about wasting money then this place is for you. If you actually care about your child’s swimming progress and really can’t afford to be wasting money then do not enrol here. The cost is the same as private swimming schools and there are plenty around. As per usual , council run centre needs a major turn over in staffing and procedures/policies in place. What a mess”

“today on the 8th of January 2026 we went to swim at ripples like we regularly do, and The pool has way too much chlorine. Our eyes were burning , found it difficult to breathe to the point that an ambulance was called for one of the workers. The swimmers around us were coughing, Everybody was complaining! Even infants started vomiting. Not happy with the usage of chlorine . Personally my eyes were itching and burning, I had to go to one of the safeguards and borrow a sodium chloride to help clear up my eyes But the chlorine was too strong that it didn’t work., I had to End up going to medical Centre to flash my eyes and give me the correct eye drops. This has never happened we go every year to swim at Ripples. When my family and I arrived home, we were all feeling very sick. This is not okay. Please drop the levels of chlorine note that some people are asthmatic”
