1 / 3Rocks Riverside Park
π Seventeen Mile Rocks, QLD
Expansive free park at Seventeen Mile Rocks featuring a zip line, climbing net, sandpit, Great Lawn, BBQ facilities, fishing spots, and scenic river walking paths. Fully pram accessible with free parking.
Rocks Riverside Park is one of my favourite spots for a family day out! The park is huge and beautifully laid out, with plenty of green space, picnic areas, playgrounds and walking/bike paths along the river. The kids absolutely loved exploring the different play areas β thereβs something fun for all ages, plus plenty of shady spots to relax under the trees. We enjoyed a long riverside walk and had a lovely picnic while watching the river go by. There are BBQ facilities and lots of room to spread out, so itβs perfect for a weekend outing with friends or family. Great place to let the kids burn off energy and enjoy nature right in Brisbane! Highly recommended!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children over 5 who want a full outdoor day without spending anything. The main playground skews toward older kids, and a separate shaded area suits younger children. Families arriving specifically for water play should check construction status in advance β the rest of the park is a strong destination regardless.

βFun! Water play wasn't on when we went there, just the little rock pools but we still had a great time. There is a beautiful huge tree with a large canopy and a deck below with seats where you can have lunch or dry off after swim. The play ground is geared to older kids, over 5 because of the height of some of the drops but there is also a little kids playground which is totally shaded by trees! The park is expansive and we barely scratched the surface so we'll be back for sure.β

Overview
Rocks Riverside Park spans extensive riverside greenspace with a purpose-built adventure playground featuring a climbing net, zip line, and sandpit. The Great Lawn provides open space for running and picnics, as BBQ facilities and public toilets are well maintained. The riverside trail is flat and pram-friendly. A dedicated fishing area is popular with older kids.
