Wonderful place. I don't usually like zoo, I don't like seeing the animals outside of their habitat. But I must say that they are treated wonderfully, and the visit can be long, informative and peaceful as much as entertaining. I have enjoyed everything, from feeding the kangaroos to photo with a koala, also the portable phone charger available at the boutique has really helped. The only down side is that after 4pm the boutique inside is closed and we can't get food, I was very hungry and I couldn't get a fruit or a healthy snack. (There is another boutique when you exit but they only had ice-cream). The merchandise were not to my taste either. If I can make a tiny suggestion it's that the kangaroo food that we can buy to feed them should probably be a smaller portion. A lot of people are buying them and the kangaroos don't want it anymore early in the afternoon, so you get less chance to feed them. That being said, later and in another spot I was able to stay alone with one and he enjoyed the left over I had. Thank you for this wonderful park

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children of any age who want authentic Australian wildlife encounters beyond a standard zoo. The free-roam kangaroo paddock works for toddlers and grandparents alike. Book koala photo experiences in advance β€” they sell. Arrive early and plan to stay the full day; the main food outlet closes before late afternoon.

β€œAn absolutely fantastic and memorable place to go for an authentic australian experience! I went with my family there and had an absolute blast. There was so many different animals to look at in such a beautiful sanctuary! I have never seen half of the animals in person, and I was able to get up close and pet so many of them! My nephews has a great time and we're running to every attraction. I would love to come back again when I have the ability to come back to Australia. I took so many photos and have such great memories to share with all my friends and family. I definitely recommend coming to visit the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary!! It was an amazing first experience. I would love to come back and share that experience with my boyfriend in the future! I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed my time here. The selfie with a kangaroo was definitely a bonus. It was extremely cool to get up close to a kangaroo and pet them. I would of never imagined being able to do that!”

β€œVisiting Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was an unforgettable experience. The sanctuary is beautifully maintained, and you can really feel how much care goes into looking after the animals. Getting up close to the koalas was a highlight β€” the staff were knowledgeable, gentle, and clearly passionate about conservation, which made the whole encounter even more meaningful. From hand‑feeding kangaroos to watching the birds of prey show, every part of the visit felt engaging and well organised. The pathways were easy to navigate, the facilities were clean, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. It’s the kind of place that leaves you with a deeper appreciation for Australia’s wildlife. I’d highly recommend Lone Pine to anyone visiting the area β€” families, tourists, or locals looking for a memorable day out.”

β€œThis was a memory of a lifetime experience. I'm from the states and only seen koalas and kangaroos from a distance. While at the LPKS, I was able to pet a koala (Morris) and feed kangaroos. Another very cool sight was the sheepdog show. The other animals, birds, reptiles, and insects were also great to see in person. We went in March, so it was warm and mostly sunny. Be prepared with sunscreen and sunglasses.”
