This review isn't about the park but the whole docklands area. When I was in Melbourne, I was told many times by the natives not to come to the Docklands. That the area is rubbish, there's nothing to do there, it's sterile and boring. So of course I went. Docklands reminds me of Canary Wharf in the UK. I live near Canary wharf and so I loved the Docklands area. It's modern, clean, with loads of boats and water so it's quite calming. You can spend half a day in the area, there aren't that many people, there are loads of things to do. I personally don't know why the Docklands is hated. If you're in the area it has all the things you want if you want to stay for a short while or if you're a young professional.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with soccer-playing kids who want space to kick a ball without booking a field. The BBQ facilities make it a solid group gathering venue. The splash area suits toddlers and young children on warm days.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Bring your own soccer ball β€” the full-size fields have goal posts and plenty of open run space
⏰BBQ facilities and toilets are conveniently positioned near the playground
🎟️Splash area is compact β€” adequate for young children to cool off, not a full water park
πŸš—Parking is available and easy β€” good for larger family groups arriving together

β€œGood park to enjoy with family in a hot day. It has sand playground, easy parking options, BBQ and toilets relatively close. Not to crowded. Splash area is not too big but fun enough for kids.”

Overview

The park centres on two football-size soccer fields with goal posts. The playground is modern, the splash area compact and functional for cooling off on hot days. BBQ facilities and toilets are nearby. Construction activity in the surrounding Docklands precinct generates noise and dust that affects some visits. The park is traffic-adjacent and the internal layout is family-accessible with wide, pram-friendly paths.
