Rosebud Foreshore Playground
π Rosebud, VIC
Foreshore playground in Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula featuring slides, swings, climbing ropes, and a flying fox. Built to blend with the landscape, with established vegetation providing summer shade. Right on the bay trail near the pier.
Weβve visited Rosebud Foreshore Playground a few times now, and I must say, itβs an absolute gem for families! Located right by the beach, this playground offers a vibrant and engaging environment that makes it a perfect spot for both locals and holidaymakers. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the variety of play equipment available for children of all ages. There are multiple slides, including a steep one that provides an exhilarating ride and stunning views. The flying fox was a particular highlight; watching the kids zip across the playground. The climbing structures are fantastic as well, featuring rope walls and net swings that challenge older kids while keeping younger ones entertained. I also loved how the design incorporates natural elements like tree stumps and pebbles, encouraging imaginative play. The location is incredibly convenient, situated at the beach end of Jetty Road. While parking can be a bit limited during peak times, itβs worth the effort. The playground is equipped with public toilets. There are also shaded picnic tables and BBQ facilities available, making it easy to enjoy a family gathering or a casual lunch by the sea. After spending time at the playground, we took a leisurely stroll along the scenic walking trail that runs alongside the beach. It was lovely to breathe in the fresh sea air and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. L If you happen to visit on the second Saturday of the month, you can check out the Rosebud Primary School community market nearby. It adds an extra layer of fun to your visit, with local produce and crafts available to browse. Overall, our experience at Rosebud Foreshore Playground was great. I highly recommend making a trip to this fun playground!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 3 and up visiting Rosebud for a beach day β the playground pairs naturally with a swim at the foreshore. The flying fox and climbing structures suit active kids. Younger toddlers will find the equipment large and high. Pack drinks and snacks as the car park has a short time limit.

βBuilt to blend in with the landscape, this playground has a beautiful scenic aspect, good variety of activities (slides, swings, climbing ropes, flying fox) and lots of places to sit and eat. Vegetation is established now so lots of shade as well in summer time. Right on the bay trail by the pier, close to parking and amenities. Car park is small so plan ahead at busy times.β

βSuch a lovely, new playground in the area. Visited as a family when we recently had a holiday in the area. The location is right next to the beach front. Parking is limited and timed right next to the equipment. This playground would be best suited to 3 and up as it is quite large, high and can be quite challenging in some areas. There are large slides, swings, a huge flying fox, lots of climbing ropes and tunnels. I did find it to be a bit difficult to navigate the pram but not terrible, depending on what part of the playground we were trying to access.β

βReally lovely playground, close to the water and to parking (albiet very limited but there is more across the road). Toilets are a bit dirty and didnβt have soap, but is very close by. Lots of shady areas, multi level play (small and big kids) and the highlight for my daughter was the flying Fox!β
