1 / 3Southbank Boulevard Play Space
π Southbank, VIC
Outdoor playground built on real boulders featuring swings, monkey bars, slides, and a long sandpit. The unique construction-debris aesthetic conceals soft-fall matting underneath. Best for ages 7 and up.
A truly unique playspace with loads of character. It looks like a jumble of construction debris but itβs probably as safe as any nature play playground. Most surprising thing is the ground which looks like hard slate pavers but are actually soft fall matting!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 7 and up who seek challenging, risky-style climbing and physical play. Toddlers will find most structures too demanding. The wind channelling from surrounding towers means layering up is sensible regardless of season.

βGreat little spot in the heart of all the apartment complexes in Southbank. A little challenging for toddlers but perfect for kids from 7 above and the circuit has a good mixture of ropes and boulders.β

Overview
Southbank Boulevard Play Space sits among Southbank's apartment towers, built directly onto boulders with a construction-debris visual style. Climbing structures, monkey bars, swings, and a long sandpit fill the space. Surfaces that appear to be hard slate pavers are actually soft-fall matting β a consistent surprise for first-time visitors. The skyscraper surroundings create channelled wind, making the location colder than expected. Metered street parking is available nearby.
