Very cool to ride in a 1920's era tram from the museum to the Royal National Park stop, which takes about 10 - 15 minutes. The stop is near an entrance to the park with some paved trails and a lookout nearby. After visiting the park, we caught the return tram back to the museum as it comes every hour. The museum is fascinating and hands-on as you can enter into many different trams throughout Sydney's past. Great for kids!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for transport-loving kids and families who want an active outing combining tram history with a National Park stop. Children of all ages engage with the hands-on trams, and the hourly rides give structure to the visit. The volunteer guides are knowledgeable and approachable β€” the tram shed is compact, so manage expectations for space.

β€œA great day out exploring the history of trams. Easy Parking and plenty to see. The volunteers are all friendly and full of knowledge. Tram rides to the National Park and Sutherland are a must! You could also catch a train and alight at Loftus station which is only a few minutes walk to the museum.”
