Thomas Street South Reserve Playground
📍 Hampton, VIC
Thomas Street South Reserve Playground in Hampton delivers serious variety: trampolines, flying fox, water play, sand pits, music zones including a DJ booth, castles, slides and swings — all within a partially enclosed space with open lawn beyond.
What a fabulous park to host a Children's Birthday Party in! and to have a Face Painter or Children's Entertainer add an extra touch alongside the amazing Playground for kids! I was there Face Painting as Children's Entertainment -Minnie Entertainment - for a joint 3rd Birthday Party - and it is a perfect playground with shaded tables and benches for a Birthday Party next to the fabulous playground.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids across a wide age range — toddlers through primary school — who want a genuine adventure playground with a full day worth of variety. The partly enclosed layout and spacious grounds make it manageable for parents supervising multiple children. A standout pick for birthday parties with enough space to host entertainers.

“When the weather is nice, Thomas Street Playground is our top choice. It’s brilliantly designed with features that children love: trampolines, swings, castles, slides, sand pits, water play areas, and music zones, and it’s partially enclosed for safety. There’s also a spacious open lawn and a walking path. It’s definitely my daughter’s favorite outdoor spot nearby.”

“This is one of the best playgrounds in Melbourne. So many activities and well designed for every age of kid. So much space behind the playground to run around also. Great for catch ups/parties. Kids absolutely love it here. The dj booth is amazing. Flying Fox is a lot of fun too.”

“Great park for all ages, it provides all the facilities and play equipment, it should really be deemed an adventure play ground with multiple structures and things to play on look at and explore. Includes water play, BBQ, oval & shelter”

Overview
Thomas Street South Reserve Playground punches well above typical suburban parks. Reviewers consistently call it one of Melbourne best — flying fox, water play, sand pit, music zones, a DJ booth, and multiple climbing and swing structures spread across a large, partly enclosed site with spacious grassed areas for running. Dedicated toddler zones keep the youngest kids engaged. BBQ facilities, an oval, and covered shelter round out the amenities for longer visits.
