1 / 2UQ Sport Aquatic Centre
π Saint Lucia, QLD
University aquatic centre with a 50m Olympic pool, 25m pool, and shallow program pool for learn-to-swim. Indoor, toddler-friendly, with an on-site cafe, clean changerooms, and pram access.
Great staff. Very helpful and friendly. Facilities good and clean. The swimming pools are perfect for different options: training, just swimming or for kids. There are clean toilets and showers. Plenty of space to pack your stuff safely. There is a coffee shop where you can get food as well. You can bring your bike and there is parking next to the facilities. They have classes for kids too. The instructors are so good and friendly. They always try to help kids when they donβt feel good swimming.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children enrolled in structured swim programs or older kids comfortable doing laps in a shared lane environment. The shallow program pool works well for toddler lessons.

βGreat 50-metre pool, usually not too crowded. It gets busier after 3pm when many kids come to swim. Entry is $8 for non-students, but you can buy passes or memberships to save more :)β

βGreat pool but too hot for me, even at 7am. There's a crazy number of squads and professional swimmers training on Saturday morning...not somewhere for a casual swim. Coffee is decent and friendly service.β

βUsed to be my favourite pool to do laps. The parking is closed, the street parking is limited and the parking bays donβt work. I was denied access into the pool because I had cash. I didnβt bring my phone as one less thing to bring. So they wouldnβt take my coins so I couldn't go for a swim. Arenβt coins a currency anymore? Apparently A rule since COVID. Itβs discrimination not letting someone come in for a swim Will be finding another pool thank u very muchβ

Overview
UQ Sport Aquatic Centre has three heated pools: a 50m Olympic pool, a 25m pool, and a shallow program pool used for infant and learn-to-swim lessons. Facilities include clean changerooms, showers, bike parking, pram access, and a cafe. The 50m pool runs at around 26 degrees year-round. Afternoon sessions get busier as school-age swimmers arrive, and Saturday mornings fill with squad training β casual lap swimmers get the most space mid-morning on weekdays.
