Free outdoor water park in Hervey Bay open October to April, featuring water slides, dedicated toddler sections, and lifeguards throughout. Paid slide passes available. On-site cafe, change rooms, lockers, and ample parking.
Wetside Water Park in Hervey Bay is absolutely outstanding â especially considering it is completely free. The facilities are excellent: clean and well-maintained water areas, lockers, clean benches and shaded seating to sit and eat, spacious changing rooms, and plenty of parking. Everything is thoughtfully designed for families. What really stands out is the safety and management â free lifeguards on duty, clean amenities, and a very relaxed, family-friendly environment. We visited with a toddler and felt completely comfortable the entire time. This is a perfect example of how public infrastructure should be done. Huge credit to the council for maintaining such a high-quality facility at zero cost to visitors. Truly impressive and highly recommended for locals and visitors alike.
đ Family Action Verdict
An outstanding free water park for families with children of all ages, from toddlers in dedicated shallow zones through to older kids on the water slides. The lifeguard coverage and facility quality are consistently noted. Avoid school holiday periods â crowds reach unsafe levels by mid-morning with pushing and shoving reported on the slides.

âIf you have kids this would be an awesome place to visit. Lifeguards everywhere and most of it it free, $8 for 10 runs on the waterslides, so thats good value. It's closed May to September.â
