1 / 3WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo
📍 Sydney, NSW
Indoor-outdoor zoo in Darling Harbour featuring koalas, kangaroos, wombats, Tasmanian devils, platypus, and crocodiles. Keeper talks and koala breakfast experiences available. Most families spend 1.5–2 hours on site.
An Amazing zoo! We got ferry tickets at the pier and bought zoo tickets at the door – no queues. There are shows at 12:00, 14:00, and 15:00 - worth watching! Zookeepers are incredible - so caring and loving towards animals! The most disturbing part of the zoo was its visitors. Parents should teach their kids to behave. If that's not feasible, then at least look after their children. There were plenty of kids chasing a peacock and grabbing its beautiful feathers; the poor bird had nowhere to hide. Another incident happened at the aviary. A man took ages to walk out and kept the door open. That let one of the birds fly out, and it got stuck in the corridor between the doors. While we refused to open the other door before helping the bird back, he got annoyed, refused to help, and complained that it was taking us too long. The poor little one got hurt and couldn’t fly. I hope everyone who visits that zoo has enough decency and compassion for all the beautiful creatures there!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families wanting close-up encounters with Australian native animals in a compact, city-accessible format. Children who have not seen koalas or kangaroos up close will find genuine engagement.

“Located in the heart of Darling Harbour, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is a brilliant, compact sanctuary showcasing Australia’s "Aussie Big Five." This indoor-outdoor attraction cleverly brings the outback to the city. Visitors can wander through the Kangaroo Walk-About to meet friendly marsupials or head to the Koala Rooftop for a close-up photo with a sleepy icon. The highlights include Rocky, the massive saltwater crocodile in Kakadu Gorge, and the elusive platypus. While smaller than Taronga, its central location makes it perfect for families and tourists short on time. It offers an immersive, educational journey through diverse habitats, proving you don't need to leave the city to experience Australia's wild side.”

The aquarium features a wide variety of marine life, from colorful tropical fish to sharks, rays, and other fascinating creatures, all in beautifully designed, naturalistic environments. The glass tunnels and touch pools make the experience interactive and fun, especially for families and kids. The informative displays add an educational element, helping you learn about each species. The staff are friendly and helpful, tickets are reasonably priced, and the location is very convenient in the heart of Sydney. It’s a well-organized, enjoyable, and educational experience — highly recommend for anyone who loves marine life!”

“A great place to see Australian wildlife up close right in the middle of the city. You can walk through different zones and meet kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, and even Tasmanian devils in one visit. It’s well organized, easy to navigate, and perfect if you want a compact but diverse wildlife experience without leaving Sydney. Fun, educational, and especially good if you don’t have time to travel outside the city to see native animals.”
