1 / 3Australia Zoo
đ Beerwah, QLD
Australia Zoo houses crocodiles, elephants, African animals, and dozens of native species across vast, well-designed enclosures.
Thanks to Steve Irwin this is a super place!!! So much to see and easy to find yourself walking in circles. Tried to ride the tram, but it didn't go all the way around as we had hoped simply to one stop then back to start. Shows are great...be sure to arrive 30 minutes early as they get packed. Weekends are very busy. Huge food court...spent $6 on condiments as tomato sauce is $1 for small packet, other sauces similar price. Hang on to your food!!! Bird snatchers all over on the ground and railings ready to jump and swoop to take an entire sandwich! Staff was nice to offer a replacement. Lots of restrooms around the park. It's only rated #8 in the world...I would have it in the top 3! Super place...come at 9 when it opens, and syat til 5. Animals return to dens after 4:30. Wow--what a super day
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want genuine wildlife engagement rather than a walk-past-the-cage experience. Passionate keepers make the shows educational and entertaining for all ages. Arrive at opening to catch morning keeper talks and claim seats at popular shows early â they fill fast on weekends.

âHighlight of our day was the elephant keeper talk! Steve did a great job with the presentation. He was very passionate and knowledgeable. We were surprised to learn that he was relatively new, we were thoroughly impressed! The whole team - Steve, Callum and Aiden stayed back and talked to us about the training and immense level of care the animals receive. This conversation really elevated our experience and we appreciate the time they took to speak with us. Even picked up an elephant stuffed animal to commemorate the trip! I was also very impressed by the wildlife warrior show - the galahs are my favourite bird so I was very excited to see them make an appearance! Also saw some flying over the car park on our way out.â

âHands down the best zoo experience I have ever been too. The animals have so much space ayou can tell they are loved by everyone who works there. The animals are easily accessible and perfect viewing areas have been crated. The crocs and Africa section was an absolute highlight... The Irwin's have created the best experience for all ages and backgrounds from all around the world... Highly recommended you will not be disappointedâ

âOutstanding. The entire experience from beginning to end was perfect. The animal enclosures are really next level. The animals are comfortable and you can always see them well. There are toilets everywhere and they are spotless. The food is good and not overpriced. The ethos of the family is clear and it's just an amazing achievement. We really loved the day there and highly recommend the experience.â

Overview
Australia Zoo Africa section, elephant presentations, and Crocoseum shows are the headlining attractions. Keeper talks run throughout the day with demonstrably passionate staff. Behind-the-scenes encounters and Zoo Keeper for a Day experiences are bookable in advance. Multiple food outlets are spread across the large grounds, and toilets are well-maintained throughout. The tram covers one stop and back â plan to walk the majority of the zoo.
