1 / 3Cineplex Hawthorne
📍 Hawthorne, QLD
Independent multi-screen cinema in Hawthorne with standard and Gold Class options at the most affordable prices in Brisbane. Free street parking nearby. All cinema screens require stair access — not wheelchair accessible beyond the ticket area.
GOATED Cinema 📽️ Best prices in all of Brisbane, enjoy movies in high quality cinemas at affordable pricing. I always love going to the cinema here, it's awesome. Couldn't recommend more highly, everyone should make a trip to Cineplex when it's time to watch a new movie
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for mobile families with older children or teens who prioritise value and want a Gold Class experience without major-chain pricing. The pricing is genuinely the standout. Families with anyone using a wheelchair or mobility aid cannot access the cinema screens — the lift reaches the foyer only.

“This is our go-to Gold Class cinema, and we genuinely enjoy coming here. One big plus is the price at just $15, it’s excellent value for a Gold Class experience. However, it’s hard to rate it as true “Gold Class” because of a significant design flaw the seats don’t recline, and the footrests don’t go up. It seems that when the cinema was built, they didn’t allow enough space between rows for the seats to recline. So they have fixed the chairs upright so they can’t recline. Except for the 2 front rows. It’s a real shame, as we love the location and the overall experience. We’re really hoping they consider an upgrade in the future to bring the seating in line with the Gold Class standard. With such great pricing, it has the potential to be a top tier option.”

“Pricing is excellent for tickets and candy bar. They do accept Companion cards however not really suitable to those with major accessibility issues. There is a lift to get into the Cineplex however that's only to where you get your tickets and snacks. To get into any of the cinemas to watch a movie all have stairs so no access for those in wheelchairs. The main entry to the Cineplex has about 8 steps to walk up but it dose have a handle rail and then there are seats at the top of them so as long as a person is able to walk up those 8 steps using the hand rail then they will be able to attend. Went on a Monday night and there was heaps of street parking.”

“People with companion cards don’t go here. I went with a support worker and got refused entry with my companion card. The website welcomed wheelchair users stating it has a lift however many wheelchair user are companion cards holders. Why are people with physical disability excluded from the delux experience. I paid full price for both myself and my worker and then got stuck in their accessible lift!!! The manger direct me to the alternate cinema with seating that I can’t use comfortably Not good enough discrimination is not okay”
